What happened to Luxury Esmeralda
If you remember or found older content about a "Luxury Esmeralda" resort in Cap Cana, it has since been rebranded as Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda, part of the wider Bahia Principe portfolio. The name change means some search results and travel content still reference the old branding, which can be confusing if you are trying to find current, accurate information.
The water park there
The resort water park carries the same Bahia Scouts Waterpark branding used across several Bahia Principe properties in the Punta Cana and Bavaro area, including Bahia Principe Fantasia and Bahia Principe Grand and Explore Turquesa. Expect themed slides and pools aimed primarily at families with kids. As with every other Bahia Scouts location, it is included in the all-inclusive rate for resort guests, with no separate ticket or day pass for outside visitors. See our full Bahia Scouts Waterpark guide for how it compares across resorts.
If you are not staying there
El Dorado Water Park is the closest public option, open to anyone with a ticket from about $129, and does not require a specific resort booking. For the full picture of what is public versus guest-only in the Cap Cana area, see our Cap Cana water parks guide.
